Linda Liu Intellectual Property Dispatches 6-Person Team to AIPPI World Congress in Yokohama

From September 13 to 16, 2025, the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) World Congress was grandly held in the port city of Japan-Yokohama. As a premier global event in the intellectual property field, this conference attracted experts, scholars, legal practitioners, and corporate representatives from over 120 countries.

Linda Liu Intellectual Property sent a delegation of six members, including mechanical, electrical, and biotechnology patent attorneys, as well as trademark attorneys, to attend the congress together. This trip to Yokohama was not only an academic exchange but also a valuable opportunity to deepen communication and enhance ties with global partners.

During the AIPPI Congress, the Linda Liu team engaged in in-depth, face-to-face discussions with international peers on hot-button IP issues such as AI patent protection, green industry and biopharmaceutical technologies, and multinational brand protection. Combining practical experience and case study analysis, they briefed clients on the latest trends in Chinese patent examination and key strategies for IP rights enforcement. An IP head from a renowned company commented, “The Linda Liu team always accurately understands our technology protection needs; this rapport stems from years of trust.”

Through exchanges with international colleagues, Linda Liu team identified two major trends in the IP industry: firstly, Asian companies are increasingly focusing on the “quality rather than quantity” of their patent portfolios, and secondly, there is a surge in demand for cross-border IP services from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “In response to these changes, we need to continuously optimize our service modules and maintain dual sensitivity to both 'technology and law',” noted a team member. This aligns perfectly with the theme of this year's AIPPI Congress: “IP Driving Global Innovation and Sustainable Development.”

The four-day congress was brief yet immensely fruitful. As it concluded, we made plans with clients to continue discussions on deepening our collaboration back in Beijing and arranged to meet again at next year’s AIPPI Congress in Hamburg, Germany. These interactions reinforced Linda Liu Intellectual Property's professional image as “globally trustworthy” and highlighted the IP industry's unique charm of “mutual learning through exchange and shared success through collaboration.”

The sea breeze of Yokohama carried the scent of innovation. What the Linda Liu team gained was not only cutting-edge industry insights but also the confidence to move forward alongside global partners. While intellectual property rights are territorial, the mission to protect the sparks of ingenuity knows no borders; our mission is to ensure that every achievement of intellect finds the safest passage between its homeland and the wider world.
