Chinese enterprises taking 'going out' strategy faced again “the United States Section 337 investigation” at the beginning of New Year in 2014. International Trade Commission of USA (ITC) announced on January 17 the launch of the “Section 337 investigation” against mobile phones and tablet computers sold in USA by ZTE Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “ZTE”) and three other international enterprises.

　
A spokesman of ZTE remarked that this wasn’t the first time for ZTE to encounter the “Section 337 investigation”. Just three weeks ago, ZTE scored a victory in the final decision concerning the “Section 337 investigation” instituted by the International Data Group (IDG).

ZTE has applied so far more than 50,000 patents at home and abroad, obtained 14,000 granted patents, and ranked the first in terms of international patent applications through PCT applications in the recent consecutive two years. These high-quality intellectual property assets have helped ZTE in a significant way in the intellectual property disputes it encountered, like “Section 337 investigation” and etc. In the latest one year, ZTE has scored three victories in “the United States Section 337 investigation”.
